kitchen transformation

The kitchen is one of the busiest places as it has the most activity. Everyone in the family enters the kitchen at least a few times a day. Having a beautiful one will boost the mood of you and your family when you all walk in for breakfast every morning. However, with so many options to choose from in terms of furniture design and interior design, it can be hard to make a choice. So, here are some top tips to help you in remodeling so you can get that dream kitchen you’ve always wanted.

White or Stainless-Steel Appliances

White kitchen appliances are a great choice if you want something that is fingerprint-proof and more affordable. They also go together beautifully with white cabinets. White also has the ability to make a room look bigger, so if you have a small kitchen, this may be a good choice for you.

Stainless steel appliances offer a more modern look to your kitchen. There are also some stainless steel appliances out there that come with a built-in calendar or even music player. One downside is that such appliances tend to accumulate fingerprints and smudges and may need frequent wipe downs.

Quartz or Marble or Granite Counters

Quartz counters have tougher surfaces that can withstand high temperatures. They are also generally less expensive than marble or granite. Quartz comes with the added bonus of never needing to be resealed, giving you more value for your money.

Marble Counters have a gorgeous appearance with their lovely veining. It gives a very sophisticated look. However, it has a fragile surface that can easily accumulate stains and scratches, meaning that it will require resealing about once or twice a year.

Granite is a good choice if you want solid stone with a many patterns and colors to choose from. However, since it has a porous surface, resealing is required once a year to prevent staining.

Open Shelves or Cabinets

Open Shelves are ideal if you own lovely kitchenware that you want others to admire. This kind of shelf can also make your kitchen seem larger as it removes the need for bulky upper cabinets.

Cabinets are best if you dislike stacking dishes neatly after a meal. They provide you with some closed storage to hide the clutter.  If you want to achieve the breezy feelings of open shelves with your cabinets, you can paint them in a similar color to your countertops.

Paint or Wallpaper

Small kitchens benefit more from paint as a plain wall design can make them look bigger. When choosing paint, remember to pick a formula that can resist moisture, so that you will be able to wipe down your walls. Egg shell or satin formulas are recommended.

Wallpaper can help you to achieve a more interesting look if your kitchen looks a little dull. It also has the advantage of distracting from any flaws in your walls, like hairline cracks. Vinyl-based wallpaper is better than paper-based as it can better withstand liquid and steam.

Hardwood or Laminate Floors

Hardwood floors never go out of fashion and can withstand a lot of wear and tear. They also can be refinished whenever they lose their shine. However, they may be more expensive than other flooring options.

Laminate floors are durable and highly resistant to scratches. The downside is that it cannot be resealed like hardwood floors. However, there are some laminate options that highly resemble hardwood floors if you want that kind of look without the price.
