January in New Jersey may be cold. This does not mean though, that there are no fun activities in New Jersey. Whether you are a local or you’re just visiting, there is always something interesting going on. It gets better with the fact that most NJ events are free. There are of course, paid ones which are just as fun. Whatever you choose to take part in, you can be certain you will make merry memories in New Jersey. You will also make friends solely because New Jersey has one of the warmest locals in the United States. For a good time, try any of the following events.

Skiing Events at the High Point XC SKI Center and Mountain Creek Ski Resort

It is hard to mention winter in New Jersey without talking a thing or two about skiing, snow tubing or snowboarding. New Jersey is awash with facilities that offer all the aforementioned winter sports activities. There are mountains with downhill skiing for extreme sport lovers as well as indoor ice skating facilities. Families can enjoy skiing as most skiing facilities feature sections for children. There are also night skiing spots in New Jersey, a trend that is slowly gaining popularity for busy families looking to enjoy what New Jersey has to offer before the day ends.

There is the Campagaw Mountain, High Point XC SKI Center and Mountain Creek Ski Resort. All of them are open from the 1st of December each year to the 31st of March. Indoor roller skating rinks are open throughout the year.

The Winter Festival In Lambertville

It is one of the most popular winter events in New Jersey. It features a myriad of activities which provide healthy, fun and invigorating cold weather experiences in the quaint river town community that Lambertville is. New Hope, which is the next community, also holds the festival. The activities in the winter festival raise funds and create awareness for different issues that affect the Lambertville and New Hope Activities. Be part of the festival this January to enjoy live music, ice sculpture exhibitions, tours, snow folks and colorful parades.

Exhibitions at the New Jersey State Museum

There are several museums in New Jersey each exhibiting rare artifacts, so you can learn a thing or two about New Jersey’s history. Visit a museum or two to enjoy exciting arts, natural science treasures and adventure. There is the New Jersey State Museum located in Trenton, Memorial in Camden, The Newark Museum in Newark and The Battleship New Jersey Museum. Each one has something special, so visit them all if you can or at least two of them.

Events at Jersey City

When it comes to an urban spot with entertainment, world class eateries, diverse cultures and friendly locals, Jersey City in New Jersey takes the lead. it is one of New Jersey’s best kept secrets and one that hardly ever disappoints.  It is also a sizeable city with amazing ethnic neighborhoods complete with modern high rise condo towers near social and basic amenities. The city guarantees scintillating harbor views that overlook the New York City Skyline, Ellis Island and the Statute of Liberty.
