The Dissonance arts and performance culture are held in Morris Museum annually where it exhibits conflict and resolution through artistic expressions. With various artists participating in this event, dissonance will be expressed through several artistic media such as poetry, performance, painting, music, and photography. Farmstead Tours

Built-in 1905, you can now experience an amazing tour of wild-life and fauna in Farmstead’s 200-year-old site this May 2020. The self-guided tours that are available daily are supervised by a community of volunteers that are committed to preserving the site. Visitors, however, can gain knowledge and interact with native wildlife through passive recreation such as hiking through the Nature Trail and birding at several points within the 100-acre site. 

Highland Park Farmers Market

For more than 20 years, Highland Park Farmers Market has been supplying all kinds of natural products that are fresh, seasonal, and Jersey grown. Not only does the festival brings fruits and vegetables to town, but also fun and vitality to Highland Park by supporting a wide array of craft and food vendors as well. From rice bowls to Rotis, vegan baked goods to milkshakes, hot sauces to unique powders, you can indulge in these delicacies while you walk down the streets of Highland Park.

A Cache of Kinetic Art: Tiny Intricacies

This May 2020, Morris Museum in New Jersey is thrilled to host the contemporary mechanical works of intricately crafted novelty pieces of the 19th century. Whimsical in nature and small in size, they are designed to delight and surprise. Known as “precious smalls”, these innovative art pieces are created from the imagination and curiosity of various artists from the past and present. Some of these unique pieces are made from traditional materials such as wood, stone, metal, and paint while others utilize more technological advancements such as electric components. Quiltmakers

The Newark Museum of Art is excited to host an array of decorative arts that feature quilts that were made between 1864 to 2010. Quiltmakers from all over America will share their knowledge and experiences about the assembling and stitching of the different types of quilts. Whether a quilt maker is working alone of working with other makers, each quilt is unique to its design and pattern. If you are looking to learn this unique skill, be sure to head over to the Newark Museum this May 2020.
