Teaneck is a township in central Bergen County and was incorporated in 1895 from portions of the now-gone Englewood Township and Ridgefield Township. Teaneck is the second most populous town in Bergen County with a population of almost 40,000 (only behind Hackensack, which has a population of 43,000). Teaneck is situated at the junction of Interstate Route 80 and Interstate Route 95. It’s bisected into North Teaneck and South Teaneck by Route 4.

Teaneck is a diverse town that is home to over 13,500 households and over 10,000 families. The population (as reported by the 2010 census) is 53% White, 28% Black or African American, 9% Asian, and 16% Hispanic or Latino. Teaneck features many commercial areas, parks, natural reserves and much more. Fairleigh Dickinson University and Holy Name Hospital also contribute to Teaneck’s regional importance and robust diversity.

Teaneck is just 12 miles from New York City and offers many public transit options. Bus service to and from New York City is available via New Jersey Transit bus routes 155, 157, 165, 167 168, 171, 175, 178, 182 and 186. Local new jersey routes are served via New Jersey Transit bus routes 751, 753, 755, 756, 772 and 780.
