Living in Jersey City, NJ

Although Jersey City features mostly an urban area, there is a unexpected amount of green space here. Locals and visitors are able to sample a wide variety of the city’s multicultural influences including Cuban, Filipino, Indian, and Korean. With its myriad attractions, housing options, and restaurants, you will never get bored with living here. Jersey City is widely known for housing Liberty State Park, which is an oasis situated in the middle of a major metropolitan area. What’s more, you will be able to catch ferries to both the Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty.

Satis Bistro is a classical Mediterranean restaurant that has been featured in Zagat’s list of New Jersey’s Top 50. The restaurant offers an exclusive brunch menu and is headed by Michael Fiorianti. The dual-storey picturesque bistro is beautifully designed with ornate chandeliers, red-brick walls, rustic flooring, hardwood, and fittings that go well with the natural lighting that seeps in from the outside.   • Light Horse Tavern

Light Horse Tavern is a restaurant that was restored from a 1850s’ tavern. The restaurant was founded by Ron Smith and Bill Gray, who named it after Light Horse Harry. He was a historical figure from the American Revolution. Light Horse Tavern has a reputation of adding a twist to your everyday dishes, including an enriched version of the French onion soup, generous pork belly entrées, and more. All in all, the restaurant is well-received by locals and has been included in multiple favorable reviews in The Jersey Journal.

  • Liberty Science Center

Liberty Science Center is a 300,000-square-foot learning center that was established to inspire the next generation of engineers and scientists, as well as stimulate the interest of learners of all ages, about the pure fun of technology and science. It is home to tornado-force wind simulators, live simulcast surgeries, a 3D theater, giant aquariums, a live animal collection, and 12 museum exhibition halls. The Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium and LSC Giant Dome Theater can also be found here. It is a large, technologically advanced planetarium.

  • The Landmark Loew’s Jersey Theatre

Opened in 1929, Loew’s Jersey Theatre is a prominent movie palace-type theater and a live entertainment venue. It was part of a series of flagship Loew’s movie palaces located in the NYC area. Rapp and Rapp was the architectural firm that was responsible for designing the venue in a Baroque/Rococo style.
